- Use P 6.6 A - Review of Ch 6 (Per 2 - you should skip probs 6 & 8 - you will learn more about that type of problem tomorrow.)
Tues April 6 - NO extra help from me - TA Ferrera available or other AP students if necessary
In Class we did,
- hydrates
- PRS - mole
- OOOPs sometime this week, before Friday, if you haven’t yet, get to work on Work P 6.6 A - Review of Ch 6 so you can get any help that you may need.
- Some of you need to get some extra help on chapter 6 mole stuff ASAP, do not wait til its too late. Test next Mon.
- Read NS 6.2 B - Hydrates and use it to help with P 6.2 B - Hydrates
- Also, if you did not do them, or it would help you to take another look, re do problems 6 & 8 on P 6.6 A - Review
- Do P 7.1 - Chap 7 & 8 Preview
Wed April 7 - Extra help available, sign up in class.
In Class we did,
- PRS - mole problems
- in class practice: hydrate worksheet and ch 6 review sheet
- ppt - preview reaction types
- last chance to retake chap 3 test (to go on your first quarter grade) by Friday of this week
- P 7.2 - Chemical Reaction Preview, Balancing & Reaction Types
- Read over the Mole Project and start thinking of a plan
Thurs April 8 - Extra help available, sign up in class.
In Class we did,
- return test ch 11 & 4 (We will go over it some on Friday)
- ppt - reaction introduction (while balancing equations)
- (PER 2 mole song, Electrolysis of water and H2 and O2 gas tests)
- LAD 8.1 - Precipitation Rx’s (Use the ppt to model writing Rx’s)
- read and do the PreLAD for LAD 8.2 - Precipitation Reactions
- read and do NS 8.1 - Double Replacement Rx’s (There are 6 sample problems on this NS, do them.
- I have posted several new mole practice sheets, work them as you wish: P 6.6 C - Review, P 6.3 - Empirical Formulas, P 6.5 - Hydrates
- Test on Monday on Mole
Fri April 9 - NO extra help available, I must get on a bus to South Hadley
In Class we did,
- Any questions on Test Ch 4 & 11 ?
- LAD 8.2 - Precipitation Rx’s
- Test on Chapter 6 - The Mole, Empirical and Molecular Formulas and Hydrates
- There are many more practice problems in chapter 6 (pgs 153 - 185) for those of you that need extra
- Try the worked out Example Problems in the chapter in the tan boxes(6.1 - 6.15)
- problems at the end of the chapter: problems 5 - 65 are all appropriate. Remember that there are answers at the back of the test and online under chap 6
- Those of you that were part of Rev Road can study in class at the back lab benches, by yourself, and take the test on Tues after school (not wed or thurs, but Tues) If you are ready on Monday you can take it then. Bring your materials to study in school - there will be textbooks available, but you should bring worksheets, etc.
