AP Chemistry Schedule & Assignments
Week 16 (5/24-5/28) - Scroll down to the appropriate day
Mon May 24 - No extra help - Department Head Meeting
In Class we did,
  • Brief discussion of the 4 quadrants of the Limiting reactant graph
  • LAD 10.3 - Energy of Combustion
  • Calculating ∆Hcomb from ∆Hf values
Outside of class you should,
  • active study for test on chapter 9 - stoichiometry and LAD 9.4 - Limiting Reactants
  • Engrade has now been updated - please check to see that your grades are correct

Tues May 25
- Extra help available, sign up in class.
In Class we did,
  • test on chapter 9 - stoichiometry and LAD 9.4 - Limiting Reactants
Outside of class you should,
  • LAD 10.2 B - error analysis of the specific heat capacity of metals. This is a general error analysis, not specific to any particular data that you may have collected.
  • Energy Problems practice sheet given out in in class (Called a prequiz on the document page)
  • Both of the above sheets were handed out in class. If you did not get them, they are available on the ch 10 document page.

Wed May 26 - Extra help available, sign up in class.
In Class we did,
  • Discuss LAD 10.2B - error Analysis
Outside of class you should,
  • take another look at LAD 10.2B - Error Analysis and finish the problems that you may not have done yet (that we did not do in class)
  • Work P 10.9 Hess’ Law - Do problems 2, 3, & 5 (Remember that if you need help there is a livescribe link on the ch 10 document page to the answer to #5)
  • Work problems 1-4 on P 10.3 - Enthalpy of Combustion
  • I am seeing a quick quiz check on the horizon on Thurs or Fri - make sure you are doing/studying your homework.
  • If you haven’t done the energy Practice (given out in class on Tues - also linked onthe document page), Now is a good time to do it. We will look at the answers tomorrow.

Thurs May 27 - Extra help available, sign up in class.
In Class we did,
  • Over parts of P 10.3 and P 10.9
  • LAD 10.4 - ∆Hdissolve
Outside of class you should,
  • Process your data for LAD 10.4 - ∆H
  • Please work more problems on P 10.9 - Hess’ Law
  • finish # 5 & 6 on P 10.3 -

Fri May 28
- Extra help available, sign up in class.
In Class we did,
  • questions on LAD 10.2B - Error Analysis?
  • discuss process the data and questions to ponder for LAD 10.4 - ∆H Dissolving
  • quiz 10.1 - Energy
  • Observing a heating curve for water: Taking ice to boiling water
Outside of class you should,
  • read NS 10.3 and 10.4 on Phase changes
  • do P 10.4 - more Enthalpy Problems
  • some of you need to go back and work on P 10.3 and 10.9 - Hess’ Law
  • review your test ch 9 as necessary
