  • read and do the PreLAD for LAD 13.1 - Determining Molar Mass of Gas (Be sure and read and DO the introduction as well.)
  • If you haven’t yet read NS 13.1 and 13.2, now is a good time.

Tues June 8
- Extra help available, sign up in class.
In Class we did,
  • Review of the test
  • go over Dalton’s Law of Partial Pressures
  • review the ideal gas Law
  • do LAD 13.1 - Molar Mass of Butane
Outside of class you should,
  • read NS 13.5 - Ideal Gas Law
  • print and bring to class P 13.4 - Ideal Gas Law & Density (Work on problems 1-3 tonight)
  • read and do the PreLAD for LAD 13.2 - % Yield of a Gas

Wed June 9 - No extra help available today.
In Class we did,
  • over LAD 13.1 - Molar Mass of a Gas
  • Gas Law Sample Problems using PV = nRT and stoichiometry and Molar Volume = 22.4 L/mol
Outside of class you should,
  • Be sure you have done the PreLAD for LAD 13.2 -
  • be sure you have tried all of the problem types on P 13.4 - Ideal Gas Law and Density
  • Break out your text book - and work problems 48 - 54 (pgs 437-438). Please bring your work for these problems to class tomorrow. We will check answers together.

Thurs June 10 - Extra help available, sign up in class.
In Class we did,
  • LAD 13.2 - Percent Yield of a Gas
  • (PER 3 - Over textbook hwk, Gas Stoichiometry)
  • Introduction to Lewis Structures
Outside of class you should,
  • Study your tail off for Gas Laws - Use your Notesheets and Practices (don't forget manometers)
  • Quiz on Gases on Friday
  • Please note that engrade has been updated - please log on and check to see that I have your grades input correctly - send me an email at my comcast account if you see a problem.

Fri June 11
- Extra help available, sign up in class.
In Class we did,
  • (PER 2 - Over textbook hwk, Gas Stoichiometry)
  • Lewis Structures
  • Quiz 13.1 - Gas Laws
Outside of class you should,
  • Answer Questions to Ponder (#'s 2-9) for LAD 13.2 - Percent Yield of Gas (Bring your answers to class on Mon - we will go over them)
  • do P 12. 1 - Lewis Structures (Work in pencil and be sure and bring them to class on Mon)
  • Gather all of your tests and quizzes - put them in order and bring them in on Monday to show me that you have gathered them up. Consider using them this weekend in your active study. Rework the problems, putting yourself in a quiz situation.
  • You must do some active study this weekend. This means some kind of writing: review sheets, notecards, problems, tests reworked, vocab lists ad more. Find out what works for you. The most important thing is that your are writing. This will dramatically increase your retention, and you need to be doing it now, not just next Thursday night.
