Mon Mar 15 - No extra help - Department Head Meeting
In Class we did,
  • over quiz on LAD 3.4C
  • PER 2 - do LAD 11.4 - Fluorescent Minerals (Redo the flames in the dishes)
  • Finish up light
  • (Per 3 - start electron configuration)
Outside of class you should,
  • ACTIVE study for a test on chapter 3 (NOT including the last two sections of the chapter 3.10 & 3.11 pgs 71-78 )
  • Use your NS, P’s, LADs, Powerpoints that are posted, the chap 3 home page, and your textbook (use the summary and key word list at the back of the chapter)

Tues Mar 16
- No extra help today.
In Class we did,
  • Test on Chapter 3
Outside of class you should,
  • no homework tonight - yipee! (Since I have no idea how far you got with Laurel and electron configurations.)

Wed Mar 17 - Extra help available, sign up in class.
In Class we did,
  • electron configuration
  • electronic nirvana - formation of ions
Outside of class you should,
  • use your periodic table (and your notes or the power point on the ch 11 document page) to work on P 11.2 - Electron configuration

Thurs Mar 18 - Extra help available, sign up in class.
In Class we did,
  • PRS - electron configuration
  • Quick overview of Nomenclature
Outside of class you should,
  • If you need review/help with nomenclature you should use NS 4.2 - Binary Ionic Compounds
  • work on P 4.1 & 4.2 - Both on Binary Ionic Compounds
  • (Since I goofed up last night’s assignments, one of your hwk items over the weekend will be to go back and work on P 11.1 - Electron Configuration)

Fri Mar 19

In Class we did,
  • working on nomenclature with TA Lauren
Outside of class you should,
  • Review Nomenclature by using NS 4.2 and 4.3 and 4.4 as necessary
  • Practice more nomenclature to prepare for a quiz on Monday by working P 4.3 (If you didn’t practice with P 4.1 and 4.2 yet, you should over the weekend.
  • You should go back and work on P 11.1 - Electron Configuration
  • Remember - you must put yourself in a quiz-like situation at home to make sure you are ready for a quiz in class.
